Increase in Local Body & Industrial applications

In September, Land, Air, Water Aotearoa (LAWA) released their findings from a ten year study into trends in river water quality. The report has identified degrading trends out weighing water quality improvements, and these findings that have been supported by both Fish & Game NZ and the Cawthron Institute.

Much has taken place since the original Information Memorandum for the Liquidstrip Offer.

Industrial applications

Its unique and patented solutions for removing solids from liquid waste with applications in stormwater, trade waste, dairy shed effluent, and concrete, are gaining increased interest and market awareness.

As a result, LiquidStrip has fielded approaches from industrial clients seeking a proven process to assist in managing the quality of their waste water discharges, with several corporates currently conducting due diligence on LiquidStrip’s technology.

A key benefit of the LiquidStrip process is recovery of clean, clear water from the waste stream that can be recycled and reused, significantly reducing a business’s demand for “new” water. This is a critical benefit for companies seeking to future proof their businesses not just from the next level of compliance requirements but from increasing restrictions on water resource and usage consents.

For some, their current resource consents will not be renewed until the quality of their water discharges are significantly improved. LiquidStrip anticipates the changing discharge and water uptake resource consent requirements, will result in significant new orders.

Council requirements

Liquidstrip has also continued to develop the joint venture with a major infrastructure participant in progressing the path of commercial deployment with local council wastewater management. And as was expected, their major interest, in terms of numbers of enquires, has been about the waste water solution LiquidStrip provides.

The LAWA plan, if implemented in its draft form, would have far reaching restrictions and implications for wastewater discharge management. In parallel with the national interest, Regional water authorities and Councils have continued to toughen the requirements for the renewal of existing Resource Consents for water discharges.

Updated IM

As a result of these developments the IM – the financial projection, which publication preceded the new interest from councils and other public bodies – are now being updated.
