Spring is here

I was sitting at home alone in Auckland on Saturday, when that persistent strong wind we’ve had forever died down, the rain stopped, and I started writing this newsletter on a beautiful Sunday, clear skies no wind.

Evidently this is a message that “Spring is here”. So I looked it up and came to the conclusion nobody really knows when it officially starts. It did however lead me to think about how the longer days, the change in the weather, and other results of Spring arriving, are all part of the positive attitude it seems we’ve now got.

An example of those of us now recognising this positive attitude included 2 of the local restaurants we recently visited; both full, people waiting for a table, and the owners saying it’s all changed for the better.

And when I think about it, it’s also reflected in the optimism and confidence we’re receiving from TBK’s clients. And in the responses to the investment opportunities we’re offering. While the opening rate of both the News and Opportunities newsletters has remained the same for years, it’s the response asking for more information that’s changed for the better.

The result is there’s far more interest in the Offers themselves; and in the number of businesses looking to for debt and/or equity to expand. Here’s a few examples.

Nobilo Wines

For some years now I’ve had a close investment banking relationship with Nobilo Wines. Now the owner, Nick Nobilo, has agreed to offer readers of our newsletters an opportunity assist in the marketing of a collection of their 1962 “7 Cellars Brandy”. This is due to go live via their website in the next few weeks.

This 60 year old brandy is the only one ever to be distilled in New Zealand. To understand the background, click here to see a video that was filmed at Te Papa Museum, where a bottle is on display as part of New Zealand’s wine history.

The offer to you - as a subscriber to TBK newsletters - is to enter into an agreement to assist in. and profit from, the marketing of the brandy by providing a loan to Nobilo Wines. This loan will individually be secured by a bottle or bottles of the brandy which will be held in the appropriate storage by Nobilo Wines on their premises.

The maximum term of the loan would be 12 months at which time it would be repaid. The total Offer is limited to 60 bottles. On the sale of those bottles of brandy by Nobilo Wines, any loan or loans provided at $4,500 per bottle, would be repaid to the lender at $9,000 per bottle. Alternatively an investor has opportunity to purchase up to 10 bottles at this half price.

If this is of interest please reply to this newsletter, include your phone number, and I will pass your details on to Nick.

DryNZ

This company is a premium producer and supplier of dehydrated New Zealand fruit and vegetable pieces, powders and slices. Its agility, expertise and reputation as a trusted provider of first-class New Zealand grown products has enabled international growth.

One of its customers is New Zealand’s second-largest pharmaceutical company which is exporting children’s health capsules to China with mushroom powder produced by DryNZ.

That order is for two million capsules and will result in twenty 40 foot containers bound for China this month. Other customers include two companies that require near-expired bread to be dried and milled for baking, beer brewing and burger bun use.

Further investment is required to meet these and other demands for its products. Accordingly the company is seeking $500,000 up to $1,000,000 through the issue of new ordinary shares in the company. You can see a summary of the Offer here.

Tax effective investments

Long-time readers of my newsletters will recall the demand for these during the infamous Muldoon period of high taxation here.

Well I’ve had some feedback from readers of my Retirement Village investment Offer. An attraction of this investment is that while there is some time before any return is received, prior to completion of the Village the investor is entitled to 40% of the tax losses - which due to the structure of the Offer are able to be offset against their other taxable income.

Specifically designed for an institutional investor this is also an attractive investment for a family trust. Email or call me for further information.

Wind, Solar & Battery Power Generation

Now this is something that really satisfies the worldwide demand for “green energy” being cheap power generation via the wind. And it does not rely on high wind shear but operates more like the air pressure in a yacht’s sail.

Our client holds the rights including all of New Zealand (plus some offshore) for the distribution and sale of wind generated turbines producing power which are available for lease or purchase. These turbines:

  • Reduces Energy costs by up to 50% with no line charges.

  • Up front geo tech, installation and connection costs of only $2,500.

  • Leasing available from1 - 10 years.

I’ve had several meetings with the client so far, and while an IM is not yet available, in essence the Offer to raise $3 million capital to settle the purchase of the turbines which they will market and sell to end buyers, many of whom have already either ordered or been identified.

The will entitle the investors to share in the company. If this is of interest email me with your phone number and I’ll discuss the Offer in general terms and get an IM to you when it’s ready.

Other Offers

These are listed on our website, some have been completed, and there are too many to put in one newsletter.

We also have a close relationship with the Australia based Wholesale Investor, and they have promoted several of our New Zealand based projects that have a presence, or looking for one, in Australia. The Wholesale Offer “requirements” there are the same as here.

So remember if you have a business (or project) that needs investors just drop me an email or call me on 021 902 901.

.............................................................................................................................................................................................................
The above investment is not an offer of financial products that requires disclosure under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (Act) and is available only to wholesale investors as defined by that Act. It is intended for distribution only to selected people to whom, under the relevant laws, it can be lawfully distributed. It cannot be distributed in any other jurisdiction, or to any other people.
