Busy Year - Current Offers
I’m amazed how fast this year has gone and the surprises it has brought – I meant Donald Trump the next President of the United States! And John Key resigning as PM here! What next?

That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya I'd always want to be there
Those were the best days of my life

I’m amazed how fast this year has
gone and the surprises it has brought – I meant Donald Trump the next President
of the United States! And John Key resigning as PM here! What next?
One other surprise I’ve had, is the strong response to the short mention about
interest income in my last newsletter - Investing
in Property and Fixed Interest.
It’s been thought-provoking to notice how over the last few years there’s been
more attention from investors to interest bearing investments. Without
being too analytical, my guess it’s been a combination of low inflation,
concern over residential property prices (effecting return and risk), and baby
boomers looking for regular income.
There’s plenty of information about these types of investments - just Google
“fixed interest investments NZ” or something like that - and you’ll get plenty
of options. This
one I thought was quite good as you can compare the rates from most bank
and non-bank companies that advertise.
But there are other opportunities for fixed interest returns that sit under the
radar as they are “private offers”, which for regulatory or other reasons are
not advertised. In the old days solicitor
nominee funds were a good example of these, but for a number of reasons,
now seem to be in the decline.
The various regulatory requirements for fixed interest investments differ
according to the type and the regulations which govern them. And I’m not going
to go into that here, enough to say we do not give investment advice - see
statement at the bottom of this newsletter.
But we do have access to these types of opportunities that arise from time to
time. Some are offering secured debt investments at up to 12% interest. And
some are not strictly fixed interest debt instruments but property investment
“funds” that offer a yield. Many of the latter have a Product Disclosure
Statement so are open to all investors. I've got one of these coming up in a
week or so.
If you’d like to know more
about these interest bearing investments you should register your interest with
us so we can contact you as these opportunities arise.
To do so simply reply to this email, or give me a call. Only one of these
interest bearing types of investment is listed below. There are more.
